Works included the formation of a new link road around the perimeter of the site, prior to the construction of a new hospital block. This included the excavation and disposal of 15,000m3 of material off site, the formation and kerbing of the link road, and extensive service ducting around the site including the installation of medical gas pipework, placed in concrete channels with lockable steel lids.
