The company was formed by Laurence Loughran in 1995. Based just outside Magherafelt, it has grown from strength to strength since with the input of his sons Martin and Larry Loughran.
We have continually invested in our plant, equipment and people, and have nurtured a highly skilled workforce, complimented with the latest up-to-date machinery. All of which means we can handle any project throughout the province.

The Team
Laurence Loughran, MD
Martin Loughran, Director
Laurence is the MD and founder of L. Loughran and Sons Contracts. Laurence has worked hard to develop the family business from a small, one machine business, to the hugely impressive modern fleet of machinery that now make up LLS. Laurence's dedication and continued hard work over the past 30 years has given L. Loughran and Sons Contracts the successful reputation that it prides itself on today, known province wide for delivering all jobs on time, every time, to the highest possible standard.
Martin is the eldest son of Laurence and director of LLS. Following in Laurence's footsteps, Martin took a keen interest in excavator driving and inevitably left school to play an integral part in LLS. With now over 20 years of experience on site Martin has a wealth of experience in all aspects of Civil Engineering and ground-works, and is leading the way in introducing LLS to all modern and innovative measures to improve the services we offer.
Larry Loughran, Director
Larry is the youngest son of Laurence and also a director of LLS. Like Martin previously, he also finished school and became involved in the family business. With his 18 years experience in civil engineering and ground-works, Larry will find solutions for on-site problems and work to ensure that all tasks are carried out to the highest standard. As a firm hands on director, and a highly skilled machine operator he ensures that LLS reputation not only endures but continues to grow.
Barry Sheridan, Contracts Manager
Barry joined LLS in 2007 as an engineer but since then has progressed into a Contracts Manager role, overseeing all aspects of projects. Regularly the first point of contact in LLS, Barry oversees all projects from inception right through to the final account, with responsibility for all surveying and health & safety matters. Barry has developed a fantastic working relationship with all main contractors and continues to push LLS towards bigger and more profiled projects, whilst continuing the ethos of doing things once and doing them right.
Office
Rosie and Mairead, both daughters of Laurence, joined the family business in 2007. They have contributed immensely in making the business what it is today. Together they are responsible for all administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of the LLS office, dealing with all the financial aspects of the business and all matters regarding human resources.
